City of Swan, Occupational Safety and Health Consideration

The City of Swan’s Occupational Safety and Health Consideration for working with people who are experiencing homelessness. The document outlines that people experiencing homelessness have the same entitlements as any member of the public to:

• be in public places, at the same time respecting the right of local communities to live in a safe and peaceful environment
• participate in public activities or events, and
• carry with them and store their own belongings.

The document outlines situations which may pose more risk to employees and outlines the guidelines and actions staff should take to remain safe, such as working in pairs.
